FREEDOM & MAKEUP REVOLUTION AWARDS / HALLOWEEN PARTY

I was lucky enough to get invited to the Freedom & Makeup Revolution Competition Final!
The event was held at DSTRKT in London! Since I live in Norfolk I decided to stay overnight and was lucky enough to have a plus one so my friend could come!

Since the invitation said formal with a touch of Halloween I decided to go FULL Halloween and I wasn't the only one! I purchased this really beautiful set of horns from Claires ( which turned out to be super heavy ) and co-ordinated my outfit to go with them!

The club was decked out with creepy dolls and cobwebs and had such an awesome vibe! Everyone was super friendly and I bumped into a few beauty bloggers that I knew and had a nice catch up! And as always the TAM beauty crew had done an amazing job displaying all the upcoming products including the much loved christmas collection , and making the night a roaring success!

The reason we were all there was for the final of the Freedom Awards! The winner was going to receive a cash prize, become the face of freedom and receive a lifetimes supply of makeup!
Hosted by Tam Beauty Co-Founder Mr Makeup himself Adam Minto & Daisy ( Beautys Big Sister ) they did a great job at getting the crowd hyped up and both looked awesome!
The final five were AMAZING , the theme of course was halloween and they all looked awesome and you could tell they had really thought about their final looks! There were ice queens, unicorns and a glitter skull. All of the finalists did so well to get to this point and when we had to cast our votes I had NO IDEA who to choose.. they were all so good! What I loved was before each finalist came on there was a short video played with why they loved and enjoyed makeup and what the winning would mean to them, I loved this personal touch!

After a short break the winner was announced and Lorna aka Ninja Fairy was crowned the new face of freedom! I really love the idea of this completion because it showcases such amazing undiscovered talent and gives them a voice! Hopefully the competition returns next year so I can find some more awesome beauty accounts to follow!

The drinks were flowing, the Photo Booth was the place to be and the music was getting everyone into the groove of things, that was until a surprise dance routine to Michael Jacksons Thriller which was out of this world!

( This Is Not My Photo )

All in all I thoroughly enjoyed the event as all I have all the other Tam Beauty events I have been lucky enough to attend!
Yet again another great Tam Beauty moment and I'm sure theres many more to come!!

Pouting for Summer! My Top 5 Out There Lipsticks For This Summer!

As an avid lipstick fan the summer period is when I can really experiment with out there shades and combos which I wouldn't usually rock in the colder months! Heres  an overview of my top 5 out there lipsticks for the summer months!

1) KYLIE COSMETICS - MARY JO K

Kylie Jenner has done a super duper job in creating a liquid lipstick craze and I myself have been drawn in big time! Ive been lucky enough to get every shade I've wanted without having to stress! Mary Jo is a beautiful crimson colour and one I cannot keep off of my lips! This would be a perfect all day shade that can also transition to night time glam!! I mean just look at it!! The formula isn't too shabby either, it doesn't feel drying or heavy on the lips and doesn't really need reapplying which is a bonus, if you can manage to grab this a lip kit I would really opt for this one, you won't be disappointed  💁🏼

2) JEFFREE STAR - DIRTY MONEY

SHOW ME THE MONEY! Do you get it? no? okay well its a film reference but never mind lets talk lipstick! This colour is EVERYTHING! This green liquid lipstick has become an addiction to me! paired with a subtle eye this bad boy does all the talking! I love Jeffree Stars line of lipsticks and this was one I wasn't too sure about but BOY WAS I WRONG! I hold my hands up I thought this one was not me.... how wrong I was! This colour gives me life and makes my lips look so full. The formula is seriously good and doesn't budge for a vast amount of time which I love because reapplying lipstick to me is a very boring job! If you haven't tried any of the JS range yet... stop right now and order some because you will not regret it!

3) URBAN DECAY - HEROINE

This beautiful bundle of blue goodness is one of my most recent purchases and something I've had my eye on since UD released their new line of lipsticks. Heroine is a royal blue with a comfort mate finish and oh boy is this beautiful! Just one glide on the lips coats them with a full colour and I have to say it added so much volume to my lips! Paired with a natural eye or even a pop of colour this is going to be not only my summer essential but an all time favourite!!

4) JEFFREE STAR - JAWBREAKER

I love me a Jeffree Star lip and this shade is one I've been trying to get ahold of for a while and one that has been out of stock for such a long time! I seem to be slightly obsessed with blue lipsticks recently and Jawbreaker is a beautiful bright blue shade, similar to that of Pool Boy by OCC. When I popped it on my lips it was as if the heavens parted, I fell hard instantly! Its not a shade for everyone  or everyday but if you have the confidence I would highly recommend it! This shade would be awesome for a pool party or festival!!

5) LIME CRIME -  PEACOCK

DON'T KILL ME I actually really like this lipstick and yes I know its by a company thats had bit of 'history' but I can't help but love this colour! Peacock is just beautiful! A colour I have yet to find a dupe for, a colour I cannot get enough of! One swipe of this bad boy and your lips will be calling out LOOK AT ME! The formula is pretty good but I do usually have to reapply throughout the day which is something to think about! This beautiful teal blue shade really adds a pop of colour to any look and is one I am deffo keeping close to me this summer!

Lipstick Is My Vice

The social media world has been a buzz recently about a few new lipsticks from Urban Decay and by a few I mean ONE HUNDRED! Yes you heard me right 100 new lipsticks, with a variety of different finishes and a range of colours from Royal Blue, Green, Dark Purples to Hot Pinks. There really is a shade for everyone!
Orange Is The New Black star Ruby Rose has become the latest spokeswoman for the brand heading up the new lipstick takeover. I think this is such a smart move for Urban Decay, not only is she super relevant at the moment but her whole attitude and style really encompasses the brand..Smart move Urban Decay smart move!
When I heard about this I was really excited to get my hands on them and see what shades Wende and the entire UD team had come up with.

Altogether there are 6 lipstick formulas; Metallized, Cream, Sheer, Sheer Shimmer, Comfort Matte & Mega Matte! When I heard about the new formulas I was so excited especially for the matte shades! Recently I've become a sucker for matte lipsticks and they have become a staple in my makeup bag, and since Urban Decay is one of my favourite brands I knew I had to get my hands on them!

One day whilst flicking through my Instagram I received and awesome message in my inbox from Jess who is the Urban Decay counter manager at Debenhams in Norwich. Jess was super sweet and offered me the chance to try one of the lipstick shades and test it out! Of course I said yes and spent the rest of the week so excited to get my hands on the lipstick! When they launched on the UD website I also ended up purchasing a lipstick in the shade Conspiracy! Its this beautiful Bronze/ brown toned colour and is in the Metalled formula.
I met up with Jess at the Debenhams UD counter and when she handed me the lipstick I was so excited I just wanted to run home and try it! The lipsticks were on display in store and they looked amazing, seeing them all laid out on the stands made me even more excited.

The shade I was gifted was Seismic which is a beautiful purple sheer shimmer lipstick. Im not usually a fan of sheer lipsticks because I find they don't last as long on the lips but I was looking forward to trying a formula I wouldn't usually pick for myself!
As soon as I popped Seismic on my lips it was LOVE! The lipstick glided on my lips so nicely and felt like I was wearing nothing! The colour is build able, with just one coat of the lipstick it adds a beautiful purple tint to your lips, I added a few more coats and the colour was just beautiful! Purple is one of my favourite shades and although this is a formula I wouldn't normally choose I am so happy with the final look! I wore Seismic all day and it lasted a lot longer than any other sheer lipstick I have ever owned and was pleasantly surprised! Im super impressed with this product and have already added 3 or 4 of the sheer lipsticks to my wish list! ( My Bank Account is going to hate me! ).

Conspiracy was a shade that I knew I needed as soon as I saw the swatches online. As a lover of metallic shades and especially brown lipsticks I couldn't resist buying it on the launch day and boy I do not regret it! The lipstick itself is super duper pigmented and just one coat gives you a flawless finish! Paired with a subtle eye this colour emphasises your lips and adds statement to your look. I have to say even my Mum asked me what my lipstick was and asked to borrow it and she HATES makeup! The power of a good lipstick ey?
I wore this colour for about 6 hours and within that 6 hours there was only the slightest bit of wear on the colour! I have to say UD have really upped their lipstick game with these shades because they last for such a long time without needing to reapply.

Although I've only tried a couple of the shades I have to say Im seriously addicted! UD have really knocked this launch out of the park. With so many colours and finishes to choose from it seriously is a makeup lovers dream!  If you haven't purchased any or swatched them yet I would highly recommend you do,  you won't regret it!

I have to say a huge thank you to Jess at the UD counter in Debenhams Norwich for giving me the opportunity to try one of the shades out ! If you get a chance go there and check out the vice lipsticks! The staff are super helpful and friendly so go say hello!!

The lipsticks Retail at £15! Which is 50p cheaper than the original Vice lipsticks! The lipsticks also have corresponding lip liners which retail at £13.50 so you can create the perfect pout.

Violet Voss Holy Grail Palette....Worth The Hype? 🤔

Instagram has been a buzz with the new offerings from Violet Voss a makeup company based in the USA. In all honesty I have never had any Violet Voss items before and really didn't know it existed until I saw the brand pop up a few hundred times on my Instagram feed.

The item that really had me a buzz was the Holy grail palette, as a lover of red toned eyeshadows this palette was almost made for me! When I heard Cocktail Cosmetics was going to be stocking the palette I sat and waited, glued to my phone in the hopes of nabbing one and I actually managed to get one! YAY!! The palette retails at around £34-£43 depending on where you purchase it from which in all honesty I don't think is too bad for a palette with 20 shadows!
Cocktail Cosmetics have super duper fast shipping and the item was at my doorstep the next day, I basically snatched it from the postman and ran upstairs to play with my new palette!

The packaging itself is very simple and doesn't have a lot of weight to it, and doesn't look expensive, although it does have a nice feel to it. When you open the palette up there is a large mirror on one side and 20 shadows on the other with a pan size of 1.8 grams each. I nearly dropped dead when I saw the shade range it was way more beautiful then I imagined it to be. I swatched a few of the shades and they glided on like butter, they are super duper pigmented and just hold the colour so well. This was something I was worried about when swatching the product because I had seen some reviews saying the product wasn't very pigmented but I would have to disagree.

I decided to try the palette out and create a look with some of the shades. Just one swipe of the pan packed a lot of product onto the brush, I did have to keep reminding myself to tap off the excess product though because there was a huge amount of fall out! And I did find that even when I did tap off excess product there was still some fallout which was pretty disappointing. The shadows blended well together and in the end I really liked the look I created, and I actually got a fair few compliments                on my look which was nice.

                                          A few of the looks I have created with the palette;

Although I'm a little disappointed with the fallout from the eyeshadows , I would recommend this product. Violet Voss has created a warm toned palette with a great shade range which allows you to experiment with tonnes of makeup looks! This will definitely be one of my go to palettes especially for those cranberry shades!

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Product Review! Part 1

So if you don't know who Jeffree Star is he was first known from his myspace days where he played around with makeup and had some music hits! He grew popularity pretty fast for his awesome makeup looks and don't give a shit attitude!

Now in more recent years he has released his own makeup brand which started with just 3 liquid lipsticks and has since expanded to a beauty empire! His products are so popular they sell out in minutes and the resale prices on depop and eBay are in the double digits! CRAY CRAY

I've been fortunate enough to nab pretty much everything except for 2 discontinued lipsticks * CRIES* and I have to say the products are really worth the hype! And to top it off they are Vegan and cruelty free Woo!

The liquid lipsticks are by far my favourite product he has brought out! Retailing at around $18 or £14 in the UK this product has really changed the lipstick game, offering long lasting finishes with a spectacular array or colours! I mean a White lipstick, who would have thought it ey?!
Some of the newer shades have a slight smell to them which is Root Beer and isn't too overpowering which is nice! I have to say though I'm pretty sure the formula has changed slightly for the newer lipsticks because I find these aren't as drying and don't dry as fast, but it could just be me! Now as you all know by now I'm a sucker for packaging and these oh boy do they just feed that habit! The tops of these lipsticks has his logo all over and size wise these are perfect to pop into your makeup bag or even a clutch on a night out.

Now I do have 4 absolute favourites and these are L-R Abused, Scorpio, Dirty Money and the newly released Rich Blood. I love these 4 the most because they are such different colours and they all look so amazing on! I find they add a great finish to a statement look and leave you looking fierce!

Jeffree Star Cosmetics also has a line of lip scrubs which I was slightly hesitant about purchasing because I love my lush ones and honestly thought nothing could compare to them..well...hold your horses because seriously these are AMAZING like really. The scents aren't too overpowering and they really do work. But best of all the amount of product you get is outstanding! Over double the amount of a normal lush one and at £9 a pop I don't think thats too bad at all.

Overall I really feel that Jeffree has really stepped up the makeup game with these products and Im seriously excited to see what he has next in store for us! Now he does currently have some face products which I will be reviewing soon but I have to say I can honestly see why everything he brings out is like gold dust and just sells out instantly!

If you want to purchase any of Jeffrees products you can get them from these sites;

Until Next Time Lovelys!

Films That Make You Think...Blood Diamond

So I was lucky enough to attend a few events last week which meant pretty hefty train travel time okay it was only two hours each way but still hefty! Anyways I saw this as a prime example to watch a few films that I've been itching to watch but just haven't had the time to, one of those films was Blood Diamond.
As a pretty diehard Leonardo Di'caprio fan I was surprised I hadnt managed to see it prior and had been told by a few of my friends that I need to watch it. Before watching the movie I hadnt done any research on it or browsed reviews ( which I'm notorious for doing) because I wanted to really watch the film.

If you haven't seen Blood Diamond I would stop reading right about now...Okay..You ready?

So the movie takes place in 1999 in Sierra Leone where a civil war is taking place between the Government and the rebels who are trying to overthrow the government. To fund their endeavours they capture  men to harvest diamonds, as well as kidnapping children and turning them into child soldiers and forcing them to commit unspeakable acts such as murdering their friends and family.

Amongst everything that is happening Solomon Vandy who is played by the magnificent Djimon Hounsou a fisherman is just trying to live a normal life and works trying to support his family. He has a particularly good bond with his son who he sends to school in the hopes he may become a doctor. When walking his son to school one day the rebels invade his tribe and kidnap him to work as a diamond digger. Thats where he discovers the largest diamond he has ever seen which is pink in colour.
The rebels are invaded by government forces invade the diamond camp and place Solomon and the others in Jail, the leader of the rebels starts asking Solomon where he has hidden the diamond which Solomon denies even having ( but he actually hid it near the diamond camp). This is where Danny Archer ( Leonardo DiCaprio) first hears about the diamond and the story really kicks in. Danny is a diamond smuggler working with the british government.

Now I'm not going to spoil it to much so I won't go into the whole story because really you should watch it!

The film really got me thinking about certain things such as how until I've seen this movie I how I had never heard about any of these goings on, such as the rebels against the government and the whole child solider element. To me this is the thing that got me think gin the most.

Sure there was the whole Kony thing where people in their drones brought bracelets and changed their Facebook header but that lasted all of 5 minutes and no one really knew why we were doing this apart from the fact all our friends were doing it. Films like blood Diamond and Hotel Rwanda are real eye openers for me and show in illicit detail things which we try to ignore because its not happening to us and this more than anything makes me wonder why!

I try to learn as much as possible about the world around me and it fascinates me that 99% of the things I find out I had never learnt in school or heard about!? Why is this? I love cinema and the thought provoking it creates but when people leave the cinema or press stop why don't people try to make a difference? We have this amazing power in life that we can do something but for some reason we don't seem to learn about important things that are happening around us!

*Blood diamond for me is really thought provoking and a film that kept me gripped until the very end! I you get a chance to watch it please do! And if you can spread the word about the world around us because the topics talked about in this film still occur today! Make a change Make a difference!! *

ColourPop Madness 😍😍

So when payday hit last month I found myself with some money left over to spend on my one true love...Makeup of course! For some strange reason I had never been on depop or these Facebook selling pages and decided to take a look to see what people were selling.

Now I've heard so many amazing things about Colourpop and when I saw a few people selling some shadows etc I decided to make a few purchases and give them a go...that was the start of colour pop madness!!!

When I first received the shades I found the packaging very simplistic but in a nice way! I like how clean the packaging looks and that they are not relying on that to sell the products like a few makeup brands do!
Some of the highlighters I had purchased had split which I

hear is a common problem with the formula they use and that they can be pressed back into shape so it didnt bother me too much. The highlighters are seriously beautiful!! My favourite being Fanny Pack which is this bright white highlighter and my god does it pack a punch Highlight on fleek for days!!! They retail at $8 each which is seriously affordable compared to other brands such as Mac, so I can see myself investing in a few more shades.

Now as you all now I love a good liquid lipstick and oh boy was I not disappointed when I received the colour pop ones! Now they do retail at $6 each but considering Colourpop don't ship to the uk I ended up paying around £8 each! Which realistically isn't too bad at all.
My favourite shade by far is Kapow, its this beautiful grey/brown and I'm ADDICTED!! Move over Retro by Mac and hello Kapow.

The eyeshadows for me were the real showstopper they were so pigmented and packed a punch when you wear them! Ive never received so many compliments about my eye makeup as I do when I wear their eyeshadows. Melrose is one I've worn the most and one that Ive already hit pan on!!! Their metallic shades are seriously amazing and have such a strange but awesome formula!
I have to say that their highlighters and eyeshadows were by far my favourites of the bunch! something I really didnt expect as an avid lipstick lover.

COLOUR POP PLEASE SHIP TO THE UK PLEASE K THNX!

I would highly recommend investing in some colour pop if you haven't already but watch out for the super duper high prices on places such as Depop and Facebook and always remember to be safe and pay G&S!!!

Freshers Week Fun!!! Tips And Advice On Your First Week At Uni!!

University is an exciting time for many! Not knowing what to expect, who you will meet? or if you are moving to a different surroundings....where to eat and shop!!!

If you don't know what Freshers week is its basically the first week at university without classes and studying, and is where you meet the majority of the people you will spend you uni life hanging out with. Whether that be your roommates or people you meet out and about! Freshers Angels are always about to offer you help and advice and direct you to places you might want to go to! They are so lovely and friendly so don't be scared to approach them.

My biggest advice is to take the time to get to know and make friends with your roommates! You are all in the same situation and are feeling the same things so take that into consideration and take the time to get to know them! You are going to be spending a substantial amount of time with these people for the next year if not longer  so don't let petty arguments or shyness get in the way of you feeling comfortable in your own home! Luckily for me I joined a Facebook page for my course and got in touch with someone called Danica she quickly became one of my best friends at Uni and I still talk to her a lot to this day!

During freshers week it may seem daunting and alien but take advantage of all the activities you can take part in and don't be scared of talking to new people. The university does these activities to make you feel more comfortable since most students are moving away from home for the first time!

Take advantage of the clubs and societies the university has to offer!! University offer a society for pretty much everything. This is where you can meet a lot of people with similar interests to you and helps you to connect with new people!

Freshers Fair is a great way to see what your University has to offer outside of University such as nightlife, travel and shopping! This is also where you will get your intro and Student ID card...The holy grail item for that all important Student Discount!!!

Partying is a HUGE part of Freshers and is what most people associate it with! If your into partying great and if your not thats fine! don't try and change who you are to impress people because you will find people that enjoy the same things you do without forcing you to do the things you don't. This period is also a great time to test out the places and clubs without the hassle of class in the morning!! They also tend to have Freshers Ball with live music, food and drinks and is tonnes of fun. Its a great excuse to get all dressed up and let your hair down.

Student Finance is amazing but make sure to budget yourself and not go overboard with spending because it needs to last you for a long period of time and considering this is the time and place to prove your independent you don't want to have to ask your parents for money!! I remember one of my roommates in first year spent the majority of her loan in the first week including her rent money!! Which the University and her parents didn't appreciate!!

I hope you enjoyed my Tips for freshers week!! I myself have been through this and know how daunting it can be! Honestly don't worry and just be yourself and you will be fine! If you want to ask me any questions then please do and comment below!

Lottie London - Brand To Watch! 💕

From the calligraphy on their products down to the colour range everything about this brand is new and unique and something to seriously be envious about!

                       ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

The moment I walked into my local Superdrug and saw their stand I knew it was at any moment that I would become a Lottie Addict and I wasn't wrong! Their collection ranges from Nail varnishes, Nail products, Cosmetic mirrors and brushes just to name but a few. All with a price range of between £3.49 - £19.99 (for a set of 5 brushes!! ).
The biggest range Lottie London has to offer is their Nail Polishes, which at £5.99 a pop are both affordable and varied in colour and style, two things any beauty addict loves to hear.
I picked up a few shades to try named 'Just Dance' ( a metallic two toned red) and 'Blogger Babe' ( a light purple/pink nude ). I was in shock once I used them! in shock at how much I really really liked them! As someone who uses Barry M as my go to nail polish I find it very hard to find something that  is even remotely as good as Barry M but boy does Lottie London give them a run for their money!!  The colour payoff is fantastic and just with one coat the colour really pops and is hard to chip. So as a complete beauty addict I ended up buying some more and now with 7 in my collection I can't see myself stopping any time soon. With names such as 'Dream Weaver', 'Dream Land' and 'No limits', I have to say I love their names! This is a common theme throughout the entire collection with a Sponge named ' Blend and Snap' they are all quirky and original and each as loveable as the next!

Along with nail polishes they also do Nail Stencils called the ' Paint by numbers manicure '. Although I personally couldn't get the hang of using them when I used them on someone else I really liked the outcome. It adds a great effect to a subtle nail look and makes them look amazing!

I also picked up some of their Brushes which they had a huge collection of! Their brushes are not only vegan friendly but are by far the softest I have ever used! Pricing between £4.99 and £9.49 ( Individual brushes), they are yet again very affordable. They pack on the product very well and leave your makeup with a nice finish, complementing whatever make up you use with them. There is no hair splitting or wear on the handles which is an added bonus! My personal favourites are the Blending Brush and the Tan Time brush which I use for bronzers etc! They go wherever I go and do not leave my side!! They are a makeup bag essential!! I love that each brush is a different colour, making each one a statement piece in their own right!

Unfortunately 2 of my brushes broke which was very sad! But isn't unlikely to happen and is no reflection on the company itself. When I got in contact with the company they were so kind and considerate and sent me out replacements at once! As an added gift they also sent me some of their Treasure Tatts. So I gave them a whirl and have slowly become addicted, my hands adorn with these tatts! I love the festival look and these will certainly add that to my summer wardrobe. Included are 3 full to the brim sheets with so many different and unique designs and at just £10 a pack I find that a steal!!

I seriously feel that Lottie London are a brand to watch out for! Im so excited to see what they bring out next and I know I will be the first in line to find out!

♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
