Manny Mua X Makeup Geek Palette - Get The Look

So if you didnt know Manny Mua is a pretty big name in the Youtube universe for his makeup tutorials and hilarious personality, and his most recent makeup collaboration has been with the fabulous Makeup Geek.
I personally have never used or owned ANY Makeup Geek shadows, so when I saw one of my favourite Youtuber's was bringing out a palette I knew I had to get my hands on it! Unfortunately first time round I was not successful but after a lot of waiting and perseverance I managed to secure one YAY!

I decided to create a look using this beautiful palette and give you guys the deets so here we go!
The final look I went for was a sunset eyes effect using as many of the colours as I could.

One of the main reasons I was drawn to the palette was the stunning red shade named Mars and knew this would be the main focus for my eye look.
I used Mars on the outer corner and blended in the other shades to create the look. I took the lighter shades on the palette and buffed the colours in from the inner corner to get the Ombre effect. I then paired the look with a black flick to add more dimension and focus to the colours, and then brushed Mars under my eye.

I have to say I'm super duper impressed with the texture of the shades and just how pigmented they are! I will 1000000% be purchasing more Makeup Geek shades in the future!

Jeffree Star Skin Frost Highlighters Review ❄️❄️❄️

Highlighting and strobing has been a staple in any beauty lovers everyday routine! Brands upon brands have jumped on the bandwagon and have delivered new and unique highlighters, bringing them to the beauty market.
Jeffree Stars Skin Frosts have been one in particular that I have been waiting to get my claws into! If you follow Jeffree on instagram you know he's been teasing us for over 6 months about these highlighters and promised us great things, and oh boy did he deliver!

The skin frosts come in 4 shades;

King Tut ; A gold toned highlighter akin more for darker skin types.
Peach Godess, ; A pink/peach toned highlighter
Ice Cold ; A white highlighter with gold reflects perfect for fair skin!
Mint Condition ; A green highlighter! Yes I said it right a GREEN highlighter!!

Now the pan size on these babies is an incredible 15g! Considering on average a MAC highlighter is around 8-9g and is priced at £25 these highlighters are nearly double the size and for the same price! When Jeffree was saying these were going to be big he wasn't lying and now I get it...Size does
matter!

Unfortunately for me I couldn't grab these babies when they got released as they sold out so so so fast! Usually I get all my JS items from cocktail cosmetics but for reasons of which I will explain in a minute they decided not to put them on their website! Luckily I started speaking to this amazing girl called Charlotte who lives not too far from their retail shop and nabbed me some! For which I am truly grateful!

When the first batch of highlighters got shipped out to their new owners many people had opened their parcels to receive the highlighters broken into pieces! This was mainly with the shade King Tut, this saw many customers complain and become very upset which is totally understandable! Jeffree addressed the situation and explained that the delivery company that had moved the delivery had dropped over 3000 of the highlighters which were packed together, and that was why they had become broken, awesome enough though the company then went on to refund everyone or send them a new highlighter which I think is cool! So when cocktail cosmetics got their delivery 50% of the stock was damaged so thats why they decided to sell it only in their store, which I think is fair.

Picture from CocktailCosmetics Facebook

The packaging itself is so in line with the rest of  his products, the highlighter comes in a huge hot pink compact (which is larger than the size of my hand), with his logo on top. On the inside there is a giant mirror which is perfect if your doing your makeup on the go!
The product itself has his logo stamped on top of the highlighter which I think looks super cute.

Formula wise these are pretty good they are made up of finely milled product which makes them glide on the skin nicely and they are SUPER pigmented just one little swipe is more than enough to get you glowing!  However there are a few flaws. I find that especially with Mint Condition  the product does begin to clump at points which I first noticed after swatching the product, this can be rectified however by buffing it into the skin. I can also see why King Tut may be a little more fragile, just by looking at it in the pan it looks very delicate and when I first swatched the product it did feel like it could break.

I seriously love these highlighters! Not only are they an affordable product but the sheer size and uniqueness of the colours pushes them into the fore front of the makeup community! JS is already teasing us with his ever-growing line up and has recently revealed he is bringing out a black highlighter for Halloween and A lilac one in a few months named Lilac Snow! JUST TAKE MY MONEY  💰

Everything Jeffree is bringing out at the moment sells like hot cakes so if you can get your hands on these products I would urge you to do so because they are AMAZING!

Jeffree is restocking two out of the four highlighters on the 16TH so quick go grab them before they go!

Freshers Week Fun!!! Tips And Advice On Your First Week At Uni!!

University is an exciting time for many! Not knowing what to expect, who you will meet? or if you are moving to a different surroundings....where to eat and shop!!!

If you don't know what Freshers week is its basically the first week at university without classes and studying, and is where you meet the majority of the people you will spend you uni life hanging out with. Whether that be your roommates or people you meet out and about! Freshers Angels are always about to offer you help and advice and direct you to places you might want to go to! They are so lovely and friendly so don't be scared to approach them.

My biggest advice is to take the time to get to know and make friends with your roommates! You are all in the same situation and are feeling the same things so take that into consideration and take the time to get to know them! You are going to be spending a substantial amount of time with these people for the next year if not longer  so don't let petty arguments or shyness get in the way of you feeling comfortable in your own home! Luckily for me I joined a Facebook page for my course and got in touch with someone called Danica she quickly became one of my best friends at Uni and I still talk to her a lot to this day!

During freshers week it may seem daunting and alien but take advantage of all the activities you can take part in and don't be scared of talking to new people. The university does these activities to make you feel more comfortable since most students are moving away from home for the first time!

Take advantage of the clubs and societies the university has to offer!! University offer a society for pretty much everything. This is where you can meet a lot of people with similar interests to you and helps you to connect with new people!

Freshers Fair is a great way to see what your University has to offer outside of University such as nightlife, travel and shopping! This is also where you will get your intro and Student ID card...The holy grail item for that all important Student Discount!!!

Partying is a HUGE part of Freshers and is what most people associate it with! If your into partying great and if your not thats fine! don't try and change who you are to impress people because you will find people that enjoy the same things you do without forcing you to do the things you don't. This period is also a great time to test out the places and clubs without the hassle of class in the morning!! They also tend to have Freshers Ball with live music, food and drinks and is tonnes of fun. Its a great excuse to get all dressed up and let your hair down.

Student Finance is amazing but make sure to budget yourself and not go overboard with spending because it needs to last you for a long period of time and considering this is the time and place to prove your independent you don't want to have to ask your parents for money!! I remember one of my roommates in first year spent the majority of her loan in the first week including her rent money!! Which the University and her parents didn't appreciate!!

I hope you enjoyed my Tips for freshers week!! I myself have been through this and know how daunting it can be! Honestly don't worry and just be yourself and you will be fine! If you want to ask me any questions then please do and comment below!

Lottie London - Brand To Watch! 💕

From the calligraphy on their products down to the colour range everything about this brand is new and unique and something to seriously be envious about!

                       ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

The moment I walked into my local Superdrug and saw their stand I knew it was at any moment that I would become a Lottie Addict and I wasn't wrong! Their collection ranges from Nail varnishes, Nail products, Cosmetic mirrors and brushes just to name but a few. All with a price range of between £3.49 - £19.99 (for a set of 5 brushes!! ).
The biggest range Lottie London has to offer is their Nail Polishes, which at £5.99 a pop are both affordable and varied in colour and style, two things any beauty addict loves to hear.
I picked up a few shades to try named 'Just Dance' ( a metallic two toned red) and 'Blogger Babe' ( a light purple/pink nude ). I was in shock once I used them! in shock at how much I really really liked them! As someone who uses Barry M as my go to nail polish I find it very hard to find something that  is even remotely as good as Barry M but boy does Lottie London give them a run for their money!!  The colour payoff is fantastic and just with one coat the colour really pops and is hard to chip. So as a complete beauty addict I ended up buying some more and now with 7 in my collection I can't see myself stopping any time soon. With names such as 'Dream Weaver', 'Dream Land' and 'No limits', I have to say I love their names! This is a common theme throughout the entire collection with a Sponge named ' Blend and Snap' they are all quirky and original and each as loveable as the next!

Along with nail polishes they also do Nail Stencils called the ' Paint by numbers manicure '. Although I personally couldn't get the hang of using them when I used them on someone else I really liked the outcome. It adds a great effect to a subtle nail look and makes them look amazing!

I also picked up some of their Brushes which they had a huge collection of! Their brushes are not only vegan friendly but are by far the softest I have ever used! Pricing between £4.99 and £9.49 ( Individual brushes), they are yet again very affordable. They pack on the product very well and leave your makeup with a nice finish, complementing whatever make up you use with them. There is no hair splitting or wear on the handles which is an added bonus! My personal favourites are the Blending Brush and the Tan Time brush which I use for bronzers etc! They go wherever I go and do not leave my side!! They are a makeup bag essential!! I love that each brush is a different colour, making each one a statement piece in their own right!

Unfortunately 2 of my brushes broke which was very sad! But isn't unlikely to happen and is no reflection on the company itself. When I got in contact with the company they were so kind and considerate and sent me out replacements at once! As an added gift they also sent me some of their Treasure Tatts. So I gave them a whirl and have slowly become addicted, my hands adorn with these tatts! I love the festival look and these will certainly add that to my summer wardrobe. Included are 3 full to the brim sheets with so many different and unique designs and at just £10 a pack I find that a steal!!

I seriously feel that Lottie London are a brand to watch out for! Im so excited to see what they bring out next and I know I will be the first in line to find out!

New Look New Me

Put Your best Face Forward- Tarte Cosmetics Review

A few weeks ago I was watching QVC when a segment on Tarte Cosmetics came up. I had played around with this brand when I was in America at my local Sephora, but hadn't owned anything by them and had no idea you could get their products in the UK, so I was instantly intrigued!
If you don't who/what Tarte Cosmetics are they are a cosmetics brand who are committed to delivering real results for real woman, the eco -chic, the best friend etc. Tate cosmetics range is cruelty-free and infused with super fruits, plant extracts, essential oils and other naturally- derived ingredients. Amazonian clay plays a big part in all their products and are all hand sourced for this makeup range. At first glance a few years prior I didnt really believe everything the brand was trying to sell...boy was I wrong! I watched the segment on QVC and the application of each product and have to say I was blown away! Lets just say I ended up ordering more than a few things! Here are  the I items I picked up and my first impressions on them.
The Tartlette Palette is one that I have had my eye on for a while and when I saw it for just £28.00! I knew I had to have it. All the shades are neutral tones and are named after different types of woman or as they like to call them Tartelettes ( hence the palette name), such as Free Spirit and Super Mom. The shades are all matte and are fused with amazonian clay to give them this really smooth texture. The payoff is amazing and the smallest amount manages to cover the entire lid. Im so impressed with this palette. The whole consistency, colour payoff and colour range is something I love, and wouldn't hesitate getting another palette from Tarte. The deal on QVC also included a brush which is double ended, one side for blending and the other is for applying the product. I really like this and bristles are honestly the softest I have ever felt on a brush!!
I also purchased the special value of the day which was the Tarte 6 Piece Best Face Forward Make-Up Collection & BagOne of the products was this Coloured Clay CC Primer Stick in the shade Fair. I really liked this its pretty full coverage and I only used it on a few areas of my face because I felt it was really thick but it did the job and lasted all day without moving the foundation etc. The colour really suited my skin type too and matched it almost perfectly. This is going to be something I will be reaching for more often!

This really caught my eye and was something I had heard alot about. The Lights Camera Lashes Mascara  is a 4 in 1lengthening, curling, volumising and conditioning. When I used this I was in shock, it completely thickened my lashes and lengthened them so much without any clumping. I am so impressed and this was by far my favourite product I picked up! I found the packaging a tad strange but other than that it was amazing and something I will keep repurchasing!
The set came with the Lipsurgence in the shade Vintage. I found the texture very nourishing and the colour was very nice but I didn't find anything that made it any different to any other product I have seen so wasn't too impressed with this product and probably wouldn't repurchase this product.
The set also included a Coloured Clay Bronzer Blush with colour correcting. I love the way it adds a flush of colour and isn't too heavy or deep in colour. Also included was a  Amazonian clay eyeshadow quad in a brightly packaged box. The colours are all daily wearable and each one packs so much product onto the lid it lasts all day! I have a feeling that Tarte eyeshadows are going to be a big thing for me in the future!
I love the fact that with each Tarte product you but on QVC they give you the brush that accompanies the product! Not many companies do this and this was one of the reasons I was so excited to purchase some goodies from them! The brushes are seriously the softest I have felt in a long time and even after use the bristles remain in place with no signs of falling out or misplacement. With the set came a double-ended complexion brush which included a striped pattern on the handle which is something that flows through the entire 6 piece collection.

Well I hope you enjoyed this post! If you have any questions on the products or want more specifics just comment below! I also want to apologise for some of my posts being late I've just been super busy with other things! I will get back to regular posting straight away!

From Norfolk To New York Part 2

Adelphi was bursting with full bloomed trees and flowers everywhere it was like something out of a movie and when I reached my Dorm room in New Hall B, it was HUGE. Because I would be sharing with 2 other people we had a massive en-suite bathroom and the room was open plan with desks and wardrobes. It felt so empty because I was the first person there. And at that moment I realised where I was and the incredible journey I had made.  I remember that night I didn't have any bedding so I made make shift pillows and bedding from some of my clothes and a blanket I had brought from the plane. After messaging my family to let them know I got there safely, I just laid on my new bed looking at the itinerary for the next few days and speculating on who I would meet and what I was in store for.

The next day was filled of welcoming events and group activities, I somehow ended up in the same group as Polina the girl I had met previous on the shuttle bus, and spent all day with her just talking and enduring the events. I met some great people in my group but one stuck out and one I spent everyday with thereafter that was Sophie. Sophie was an exchange student from Australia who was studying journalism. She was so friendly and easy to talk to and we managed to click instantly we shared so many personality traits I felt like I really connected with someone and I was right ( but ill talk more about that later ). After meeting some more people from other countries we had a little group and really had fun, that night we all skipped the last event to go to the mall to buy bedding and we really got to know each other, that night I went to bed feeling excited for what was to come and to see my new found friends.

Adelphi had organised a beach trip for everyone there was about 20 of us and we all enjoyed games on Jones Beach, hearing each others stories and personal backgrounds. Omar from Egypt introduced us to this game called wink murder which we were all glued to for about 2 hours!! all in all it was fantastic day (even though I suffered severe sunburn), and many of the people I met that day I continued to hang around with though out my time at Adelphi and still talk to frequently today. A few of us went to IHop that night and I ate so many pancakes I felt so so sick! Welcome to America hey!

Later on after the fun of the beach and IHOP a few of us decided to go out on the town and experience Garden Citys night life. Ami this girl we met who was apart of the international student programme kindly took us and me , Sophie, David and Omar went out. We went to a bar called Mchebes which was very close to that of the bar from Coyote ugly and I instantly fell in love! Me and Sophie managed to get most of our drinks for free just because we were international which resulted in very tipsy moments including Sophie burning me with her cigarette and declaring me her best friend! But the funniest moment had to be when Omar lit up a cigarette in the club thinking it was okay to smoke inside and nearly getting thrown out, us internationals hey, you can't take us anywhere! When we returned to Adelphi that night the sprinklers were on and we all ran through them not caring that we were instantly soaked but just enjoying every moment we could! cherishing our first night together.

A week went by and the day came where my first roommate was going to be moving in, her name was Krissy and although I didn't really know her, we had been talking to each other on Facebook prior which was really helpful in making the situation more comfortable.
I was eating lunch with my friends Polina and Sophie before we were going to head off to the mall, since I knew Krissy would be arriving soon I went back to my room to see if she had arrived. When I opened the door I was greeted by her and we had a small conversation before I ran to catch the shuttle bus to the mall to grab bedding etc.

The next day a group of us decided to head into the city for the first time, we all met for breakfast and discussed the places we wanted to visit. I remember sitting there so excited about visiting the big apple and finally see the place where my year long journey would take place. The train to Penn Stations was so surreal because I knew that at any moment I would be in the city and although I had read about it and seen it in movies nothing could have prepared me for the beauty that is New York City...

Palette Of The Month

Hello Everybody! I hope everyone is doing great and are enjoying the start of spring!

This months Palette Of The Month is *Insert Drumroll' The Kat Von D 'Esperanza Palette'.  I love Kat Von D's makeup range and feel that the colours in both the palettes and other beauty items are some of the best around.

When I first heard this was coming out I knew I had to have it. Fast forward a year and I am still loving this! Since spring has struck I've found myself reaching for this more and more. The packaging itself is very visually attractive, something Kat Von D's entire range has down to a T.

The colours themselves are very pigmented and the colour in the pans are the exact colours that transfer across, which is something you don't always get. The colour range shows a lot of different shades which are all interchangeable with each other to create both night and day looks, whether that be a smokey eye or a muted down everyday look. My favourite is the Transformer shade 'Dayglo' once applied on top of another shadow is transforms the colour to a different shade in different types of light and adds a shimmer. This is something I hadn't and still haven't seen in another palette and think its such a great addition.

*Unfortunately one of the shades didn't photograph. 'South' is very much a toned down peach colour which has a very powdery feel.

'What I will say is that I wish the palette had a more sturdier packaging, the inside lets the palette down display wise but other than that its a great palette to create some interesting looks for spring/summer 2015! and is something I will constantly be reaching for!

Hope you enjoyed it!

My Favourite Nail Polishes For Spring ✽ ✾ ✿ ❁

Spring is nature's way of saying, 'Let's party!' Robin Williams

Hello Everybody, since spring is well and truly here I thought I would go through my favourite Polishes to put the Spring back in your step!

Recently there has been a burst of new nail varnish collections each offering an array of colours and finishes that are universal to anybody. This season has seen a huge collection of pastel colours which is a bonus because everyone loves a good pastel shade, especially for spring!

These are my top 6 picks for this spring! I know its usually top five but I couldn't decide, there were so more I wanted to feature but I managed to narrow it down. Barry M is a pro at creating the most wonderful and unique array of nail varnishes for both texture and colour range. They have just released a collection called the 'Speedy Quick Dry' collection which does exactly what it says on the bottle, it drys super fast, eliminating the annoying feeling of having to wait for your nails to dry. 'Pole Position' & 'Lap of Honour' are such beautiful purple and green pastel colours which leave a great finish on your nails.
The shade 'Elderberry' is from the Gelly collection and is such a beautiful pale blue colour. I don't usually like blue nails but this colour is so subtle and wearable with any outfit I couldn't resist.
As you may know I've been LOVING Rimmel recently and their nail polishes are no different, for me the Rita Ora for Rimmel collection is such great value for money (at as little as £1.49!) and the colours are very much aimed towards spring/summer. One of my absolute favourites is 'Rain,Rain go away' its a very pale purple grey colour and is very interchangeable with any outfit. This colour is perfect for a night out and leaves you feeling very sophisticated.
The last two on my spring favourites are both nail varnish toppers, by this I mean their purpose is to go on top of a colour although you can wear it alone. The 'Pop Art' topper by Rita Ora for Rimmel has recently been my go to polish, I love how it transforms your nail varnish into something quirky and noticeable and love the colour range they have used for the dots themselves. The last polish is from a brand called Essence which I have only recently discovered, I saw someone post about their products on Instagram and went on a mission to find some. I was relatively impressed with the range, and was especially drawn to their nail topper in the shade 'Cupcake'. The topper is filled with little rectangle sequins and is a dusty pink shade its so beautiful to pair with a pastel colour varnish, and would be such a nice addiction to anybody's spring wardrobe.

I hope you enjoyed my favourite spring nail polishes! I would love to know what yours are so leave a comment below. Ill link the products below so if you fancy picking one up you can.

Whats In My Makeup Bag?!?!?

Since I haven't written a post in a little while I thought I would talk about whats in my makeup bag! Firstly my makeup bag is from Zoella's collection which I brought for £8 at Superdrug. Its the perfect size to put all your favourite beauty items inside and is great for travelling. It has a lot of room inside and the shape is perfect for my essentials, and not to mention the pattern is extremely pretty.

So lets dive in and take a look inside my bag.

The first thing I pull out is my Soap and Glory Super Tonic in the scent Orangeasm, which I received for christmas. The bottle is quite a large size so takes up a large amount of space inside my bag but its worth it! The scent is so fresh and fruity and the smallest amount goes a long way, the fragrance lasts all day and leaves you smelling gorgeous!

Along with the Super Tonic I pulled out 5 other products. I recently purchased the new Rita Ora Rimmel nail polishes and my favourite shade has to be Rain Rain Go Away, its a perfect subtle colour and since I've painted my nails that colour Its in my makeup bag incase I ever need to top it up. At £2.99 a bottle they are a real steal and I highly recommend them!
I always take two makeup brushes with me wherever I go, these tend to be the Real Techniques Powder Brush ( £9.99 ) and my Primark double ended eyeshadow brush ( £1.00 ).  These are the brushes I use the most so I always have them by my side incase I need to touch up my makeup or change my look. My Mac Studio Fix (£21.50)  in the shade NW20 is also in my bag for that reason, just incase I need to touch my makeup up, I love this product so much and am so happy I discovered it! It leaves my face feeling so soft and you can really see a difference.
Since I have combination skin I tend to get oily patches on my nose and other areas on my face so I decided to try the Garnier Moisture Matte Moisturiser for £1.99 (it was on sale at ASDA) and I'm so glad I found it! Ever since I have used it my face feels so much fresher and really helps with my oily patches, if you have Combination skin I would highly recommend it!

I always like to carry a primer and foundation with me everywhere, I recently discovered the New Loreal Infallible Matte Foundation and Primer (£7.99 each) and have fallen in love. As a fan of the original Infallible Foundation I was naturally drawn to this and it didn't disappoint. The payoff and texture is outstanding and you can really see the difference, although it is a matte foundation it isn't too mattifying and doesn't dry your face out, seriously loving this product!
Maybelline as a drugstore brand offers some of the best value for money products especially when it comes to Mascara so theirs tends to be the one you will find in my bag. Their Lash Sensational Mascara (£5.99) is by far my favourite and is the mascara I tend to reach for the most. The brush has a slight curve to match that of someones eyes and the formula really works well and creates defined lashes, its a seriously good product and perfect if your on a budget!
Mac does some amazing blushes and bronzers but my go to makeup bag essential is the limited edition Rihanna Hibiscus Kiss ( I love it so much I've hit pan!). This goes wherever I go and is always in my makeup bag.

Although I have a huge passion and love for lipsticks I only carry a few with me and they usually depend on my outfit or make up that day. In my makeup bag at the moment I have MAC Honey-Love (£15.50), Charlotte Tilbury's Velvet Underground (£23.00) and Urban Decay Naked Lipgloss in the shade Naked. These all offer different textures and colour payoffs but are all brilliant. My favourite has to be Velvet Underground, it offers such a vivid colour and lasts all day and is an essential to any makeup collection.

To go along with my lipsticks I carry a lip liner and lip primer, at the moment its my Topshop Lip Primer (£9.50)  and my Mac Boldly Bare Lip Liner (£12.50). The primer really hydrates my lips and keeps them that way all day which is what you would want from a  primer, it also keeps the product intact and doesn't chap my lips. Mac's lip liners are brilliant! they pack on a lot of colour and are great for keeping your chosen lipstick in place without them bleeding through, they offer so many different colours and are always a must have in my bag!

The last item in my makeup bag is my Urban Decay Naked Basics 1&2 Palettes (£22.00) . I love the shades in these palettes and they are effect travel size, they are great if you want to create a subtle look or a smokey eye and I love having them with me wherever I go. Both of them offer different shade ranges and textures whether its matte or shimmer and each is as beautiful as the next, if you haven't checked them out yet then do it!
Well I hope you enjoyed seeing what items are in my makeup bag and you may have discovered some new products to try! Leave me some comments below about what you would like to see me post next, until then xoxo
