Urban Decay Razor Liner

I am always in search of new colourful liners and I was so excited when I heard that Urban Decay were going to be releasing some new eyeliners!
I haven't been really impressed with their old range of eyeliners so was intrigued to see what their latest collection had to offer.

The packaging seriously caught my eye! They look so sleek and are the perfect size to fit into your makeup bag.
The first liner I purchased was Fireball and boy oh boy is it beautiful! The colour is super duper pigmented and just makes my eyes pop!

Fireball Liner

Safe to say after the amazing experience I had with Fireball I ended up purchasing a whole bunch more! Some of the shades like Chaos need to be shaken or layered to get a full colour payoff but because of the formula I wasn't really surprised.

GoldRush and Zodiac Liner

                                                                    Zodiac Liner

Overall I am super impressed with these liners!! I love how they have a range of finishes such as glitter effects or metallic. UD are stepping up the makeup game constantly and this is just one more item to add to my never ending favourites list!!

The liners come in 20 shades and are £16 each!!

Manny Mua X Makeup Geek Palette - Get The Look

So if you didnt know Manny Mua is a pretty big name in the Youtube universe for his makeup tutorials and hilarious personality, and his most recent makeup collaboration has been with the fabulous Makeup Geek.
I personally have never used or owned ANY Makeup Geek shadows, so when I saw one of my favourite Youtuber's was bringing out a palette I knew I had to get my hands on it! Unfortunately first time round I was not successful but after a lot of waiting and perseverance I managed to secure one YAY!

I decided to create a look using this beautiful palette and give you guys the deets so here we go!
The final look I went for was a sunset eyes effect using as many of the colours as I could.

One of the main reasons I was drawn to the palette was the stunning red shade named Mars and knew this would be the main focus for my eye look.
I used Mars on the outer corner and blended in the other shades to create the look. I took the lighter shades on the palette and buffed the colours in from the inner corner to get the Ombre effect. I then paired the look with a black flick to add more dimension and focus to the colours, and then brushed Mars under my eye.

I have to say I'm super duper impressed with the texture of the shades and just how pigmented they are! I will 1000000% be purchasing more Makeup Geek shades in the future!

Violet Voss Holy Grail Palette....Worth The Hype? 🤔

Instagram has been a buzz with the new offerings from Violet Voss a makeup company based in the USA. In all honesty I have never had any Violet Voss items before and really didn't know it existed until I saw the brand pop up a few hundred times on my Instagram feed.

The item that really had me a buzz was the Holy grail palette, as a lover of red toned eyeshadows this palette was almost made for me! When I heard Cocktail Cosmetics was going to be stocking the palette I sat and waited, glued to my phone in the hopes of nabbing one and I actually managed to get one! YAY!! The palette retails at around £34-£43 depending on where you purchase it from which in all honesty I don't think is too bad for a palette with 20 shadows!
Cocktail Cosmetics have super duper fast shipping and the item was at my doorstep the next day, I basically snatched it from the postman and ran upstairs to play with my new palette!

The packaging itself is very simple and doesn't have a lot of weight to it, and doesn't look expensive, although it does have a nice feel to it. When you open the palette up there is a large mirror on one side and 20 shadows on the other with a pan size of 1.8 grams each. I nearly dropped dead when I saw the shade range it was way more beautiful then I imagined it to be. I swatched a few of the shades and they glided on like butter, they are super duper pigmented and just hold the colour so well. This was something I was worried about when swatching the product because I had seen some reviews saying the product wasn't very pigmented but I would have to disagree.

I decided to try the palette out and create a look with some of the shades. Just one swipe of the pan packed a lot of product onto the brush, I did have to keep reminding myself to tap off the excess product though because there was a huge amount of fall out! And I did find that even when I did tap off excess product there was still some fallout which was pretty disappointing. The shadows blended well together and in the end I really liked the look I created, and I actually got a fair few compliments                on my look which was nice.

                                          A few of the looks I have created with the palette;

Although I'm a little disappointed with the fallout from the eyeshadows , I would recommend this product. Violet Voss has created a warm toned palette with a great shade range which allows you to experiment with tonnes of makeup looks! This will definitely be one of my go to palettes especially for those cranberry shades!

Films That Make You Think...Blood Diamond

So I was lucky enough to attend a few events last week which meant pretty hefty train travel time okay it was only two hours each way but still hefty! Anyways I saw this as a prime example to watch a few films that I've been itching to watch but just haven't had the time to, one of those films was Blood Diamond.
As a pretty diehard Leonardo Di'caprio fan I was surprised I hadnt managed to see it prior and had been told by a few of my friends that I need to watch it. Before watching the movie I hadnt done any research on it or browsed reviews ( which I'm notorious for doing) because I wanted to really watch the film.

If you haven't seen Blood Diamond I would stop reading right about now...Okay..You ready?

So the movie takes place in 1999 in Sierra Leone where a civil war is taking place between the Government and the rebels who are trying to overthrow the government. To fund their endeavours they capture  men to harvest diamonds, as well as kidnapping children and turning them into child soldiers and forcing them to commit unspeakable acts such as murdering their friends and family.

Amongst everything that is happening Solomon Vandy who is played by the magnificent Djimon Hounsou a fisherman is just trying to live a normal life and works trying to support his family. He has a particularly good bond with his son who he sends to school in the hopes he may become a doctor. When walking his son to school one day the rebels invade his tribe and kidnap him to work as a diamond digger. Thats where he discovers the largest diamond he has ever seen which is pink in colour.
The rebels are invaded by government forces invade the diamond camp and place Solomon and the others in Jail, the leader of the rebels starts asking Solomon where he has hidden the diamond which Solomon denies even having ( but he actually hid it near the diamond camp). This is where Danny Archer ( Leonardo DiCaprio) first hears about the diamond and the story really kicks in. Danny is a diamond smuggler working with the british government.

Now I'm not going to spoil it to much so I won't go into the whole story because really you should watch it!

The film really got me thinking about certain things such as how until I've seen this movie I how I had never heard about any of these goings on, such as the rebels against the government and the whole child solider element. To me this is the thing that got me think gin the most.

Sure there was the whole Kony thing where people in their drones brought bracelets and changed their Facebook header but that lasted all of 5 minutes and no one really knew why we were doing this apart from the fact all our friends were doing it. Films like blood Diamond and Hotel Rwanda are real eye openers for me and show in illicit detail things which we try to ignore because its not happening to us and this more than anything makes me wonder why!

I try to learn as much as possible about the world around me and it fascinates me that 99% of the things I find out I had never learnt in school or heard about!? Why is this? I love cinema and the thought provoking it creates but when people leave the cinema or press stop why don't people try to make a difference? We have this amazing power in life that we can do something but for some reason we don't seem to learn about important things that are happening around us!

*Blood diamond for me is really thought provoking and a film that kept me gripped until the very end! I you get a chance to watch it please do! And if you can spread the word about the world around us because the topics talked about in this film still occur today! Make a change Make a difference!! *

ColourPop Madness 😍😍

So when payday hit last month I found myself with some money left over to spend on my one true love...Makeup of course! For some strange reason I had never been on depop or these Facebook selling pages and decided to take a look to see what people were selling.

Now I've heard so many amazing things about Colourpop and when I saw a few people selling some shadows etc I decided to make a few purchases and give them a go...that was the start of colour pop madness!!!

When I first received the shades I found the packaging very simplistic but in a nice way! I like how clean the packaging looks and that they are not relying on that to sell the products like a few makeup brands do!
Some of the highlighters I had purchased had split which I

hear is a common problem with the formula they use and that they can be pressed back into shape so it didnt bother me too much. The highlighters are seriously beautiful!! My favourite being Fanny Pack which is this bright white highlighter and my god does it pack a punch Highlight on fleek for days!!! They retail at $8 each which is seriously affordable compared to other brands such as Mac, so I can see myself investing in a few more shades.

Now as you all now I love a good liquid lipstick and oh boy was I not disappointed when I received the colour pop ones! Now they do retail at $6 each but considering Colourpop don't ship to the uk I ended up paying around £8 each! Which realistically isn't too bad at all.
My favourite shade by far is Kapow, its this beautiful grey/brown and I'm ADDICTED!! Move over Retro by Mac and hello Kapow.

The eyeshadows for me were the real showstopper they were so pigmented and packed a punch when you wear them! Ive never received so many compliments about my eye makeup as I do when I wear their eyeshadows. Melrose is one I've worn the most and one that Ive already hit pan on!!! Their metallic shades are seriously amazing and have such a strange but awesome formula!
I have to say that their highlighters and eyeshadows were by far my favourites of the bunch! something I really didnt expect as an avid lipstick lover.

COLOUR POP PLEASE SHIP TO THE UK PLEASE K THNX!

I would highly recommend investing in some colour pop if you haven't already but watch out for the super duper high prices on places such as Depop and Facebook and always remember to be safe and pay G&S!!!

November Favourites!

Wow I cant believe its that time of the month where we discuss my favourites! Lets all take a moments silence for the month of November and then realise that christmas is edging closer and closer!! YAAAY CHRISTMAS, but anyways lets get down to why we are all here, my monthly favourites...

Beauty Favourites

This month I've really been trying to rediscover old products that I haven't used as much and the Urban Decay Vice 3 is one that I have rediscovered and been loving this month! Ive practically used this palette everyday this month and have loved mixing and trying new colour combinations from the Vice 3! I cannot believe I forgot about this palette and feel like this will be a favourite of mine for a while to come!

So Boots have finally started stocking NYX cosmetics! and since I had a load of points I decided to get a few of the Velvet Matte Lip Creams...and boy was I glad! The consistency of these are amazing and I've been addicted to wearing them, especially the shade Transylvania which is a very deep purple/red colour and has been perfect for this past month..uh IM IN LOVE
Ive loved rocking an eyeliner flick this month and the eyeliner that I've been using is the Kat Von D one in the shade Trooper! Ive found that the tip is perfect for creating a clean cut wing and it seriously lasts ALL day!!! For me Kat Von D's makeup is an epic win no matter what she brings out but this is a stand out product for me! I will definitely be repurchasing this because I can see me using this basically everyday!!!

I love having super luscious lashes and fro me Benefit Rollerlash has been doing the job superbly. Ive found myself reaching for this more than I usually would and this is mainly because of the length and definition its been giving my lashes! Benefit do some great makeup items but for me this is by far my number one favourite!

Ive really been getting into priming my face and I've been obsessed with the new Soap and Glory primer! It feels so good on my skin and really does the trick and even though I suffer with combination to oily skin it has worked an absolute treat! I wasn't really expecting too much when I tried this one but boy oh boy was I wrong! Ive been using it so much I have nearly ran out...oops

The Tanya Burr Rose Flush Cheek Palette is one of my favourite palettes ever!! And that is a statement I don't say very often. The colour combination is fantastic and although I tend to gravitate towards the bronzer and highlighter more I have literally used this palette everyday since I purchased it! Although the bronzer looks very dark, once applied it is perfect and goes on so softly....uhhh I just love it.

Film Favourites!!

Theres a few films I've been loving this month, the first which will come to no surprise is Jurassic World, I actually went to see this for my birthday and as an avid fan I seriously loved it! My brother actually purchased the Blu-ray for me and I've watched it and watched it at least 6 times aha!

Another film/documentary I have just been mesmerised by is The Cove. This film literally broke my heart, its on the same wavelength as Black Fish and discusses the Dolphin culling in Asia. If you have the time to watch this DO IT, its truly mind-blowing and something you need to see!!

Music Favourites!!

Yet again this month has been dominated by The Weeknd, I have pretty much listened to their album everyday and cannot get enough! Both their new and older albums are laden with catchy songs and great beats so get listening! My favourite at the moment is House Of Balloons!

YouTube Favourite!!

So this is a new add in for me but this month I have been totally engrossed with the beauty which is Arden Rose. Now many of you probably know who she is but if you don't then get looking! She is so witty and funny and her videos are just awesome to watch, she brings a fresh approach to the youtube world and literally does not give a fuck which is exactly why she is my spirit animal aha!!

So yaaay I really hope you've enjoyed my favourites! I would love to know what yours our so go check out my instagram or twitter and let me know!

Freshers Week Fun!!! Tips And Advice On Your First Week At Uni!!

University is an exciting time for many! Not knowing what to expect, who you will meet? or if you are moving to a different surroundings....where to eat and shop!!!

If you don't know what Freshers week is its basically the first week at university without classes and studying, and is where you meet the majority of the people you will spend you uni life hanging out with. Whether that be your roommates or people you meet out and about! Freshers Angels are always about to offer you help and advice and direct you to places you might want to go to! They are so lovely and friendly so don't be scared to approach them.

My biggest advice is to take the time to get to know and make friends with your roommates! You are all in the same situation and are feeling the same things so take that into consideration and take the time to get to know them! You are going to be spending a substantial amount of time with these people for the next year if not longer  so don't let petty arguments or shyness get in the way of you feeling comfortable in your own home! Luckily for me I joined a Facebook page for my course and got in touch with someone called Danica she quickly became one of my best friends at Uni and I still talk to her a lot to this day!

During freshers week it may seem daunting and alien but take advantage of all the activities you can take part in and don't be scared of talking to new people. The university does these activities to make you feel more comfortable since most students are moving away from home for the first time!

Take advantage of the clubs and societies the university has to offer!! University offer a society for pretty much everything. This is where you can meet a lot of people with similar interests to you and helps you to connect with new people!

Freshers Fair is a great way to see what your University has to offer outside of University such as nightlife, travel and shopping! This is also where you will get your intro and Student ID card...The holy grail item for that all important Student Discount!!!

Partying is a HUGE part of Freshers and is what most people associate it with! If your into partying great and if your not thats fine! don't try and change who you are to impress people because you will find people that enjoy the same things you do without forcing you to do the things you don't. This period is also a great time to test out the places and clubs without the hassle of class in the morning!! They also tend to have Freshers Ball with live music, food and drinks and is tonnes of fun. Its a great excuse to get all dressed up and let your hair down.

Student Finance is amazing but make sure to budget yourself and not go overboard with spending because it needs to last you for a long period of time and considering this is the time and place to prove your independent you don't want to have to ask your parents for money!! I remember one of my roommates in first year spent the majority of her loan in the first week including her rent money!! Which the University and her parents didn't appreciate!!

I hope you enjoyed my Tips for freshers week!! I myself have been through this and know how daunting it can be! Honestly don't worry and just be yourself and you will be fine! If you want to ask me any questions then please do and comment below!

Stationary Tips for Uni/College

Hello Lovely's! Today I'm going to be talking about my top 10 stationary must haves you need for studying wherever you are heading whether that be University or college!

1) I know many of you are thinking about taking a laptop or tablet to class with you and yeah thats a good idea but you don't want to be stuck in class with no battery life and no charging ports because trust me its a nightmare! Also if your using a laptop in class MAKE SURE TO BACK YOUR WORK UP! you don't want to have spent hours typing away only to end up deleting it and you can't get it back! So Think and Sync!!!

2) Put a Ring on it! Take a ring binder to class because you will end up getting lots of handouts, some which are very important such as hand in and exam dates! So make sure you get a decent folder for you to organise these in! You won't regret it.

3) Buy multiple pens and pencils! When it comes down to pens make sure you buy in bulk because you will go through loads! Mainly because you will end up losing them or lending them to people who never return them ( pen thief's!! ). Make sure these pens won't run out at the worst moment because you don't want to be halfway through writing and BAM no more ink *cries*. You can get some really nice looking ones with super cool designs that can seriously help brighten up your pencil case!

4) Highlighters on Fleek! Highlighters will be your best friend, using highlighters to mark out the most important points will save you ALOT of time during exams, which will leave more time to study! Highlighting also makes your work look more colourful and attractive which will help you to focus and take things in during the learning process.

5) Ive got Notebooks and Notepads a plenty! I know you all want fabulous stationary but make sure its affordable and practical because you will go through more notepads then you will hot dinners! especially in your first year where there is so much information to take in! These will also be your best study material when it comes to exams and coursework so make sure your notes are clear and concise.  My biggest advice would be to focus more on what the lecturer is saying and write that down rather than taking notes from the slides because most lecturers will have their slides readily available for you to download!

6) It's a Stick up!! Sticky notes always come in handy especially for writing important notes or reminders and are great to pop into a diary or onto a calendar. You can also get some really unique designs such as Doughnuts or animals which can add a quirky touch to any notebook!

7) Let me check my Diary! A diary or calendar is a great essential to have, writing down your exam dates, due dates or social plans make it so much easier to remember or plan ahead. When I was at uni I wish I had purchased one because it would have made things so much easier! It wasn't until I started blogging that I realised the importance of a diary!

8) Bags Bags Bags!! Make sure to get yourself a bag that will hold all of your stationary swell as other essentials. I always take a backpack with me because I find it easier to carry all my essentials! But make sure not to clutter it too much so that you can't find anything!!!

9) Notice Me! A notice board is a great idea to get your attention for certain thing such as dates or reminders! you can also decorate it with pictures from home or items that remind you of good times!

10) USB Me! USB and Harddrives will save your life...literally! Stock up on these babies because they are great for transferring data and coursework to study at University/College in the library rather than carrying Loads of notebooks! Its also a great tool for sharing notes with your friends rather than having to hand write everything!

So there it is my Top 10 Stationary must haves!! I hope you enjoyed it and stay tuned because ill be dropping a new post tomorrow!!

Excuse my extreme resting bitchface!

Lottie London - Brand To Watch! 💕

From the calligraphy on their products down to the colour range everything about this brand is new and unique and something to seriously be envious about!

                       ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

The moment I walked into my local Superdrug and saw their stand I knew it was at any moment that I would become a Lottie Addict and I wasn't wrong! Their collection ranges from Nail varnishes, Nail products, Cosmetic mirrors and brushes just to name but a few. All with a price range of between £3.49 - £19.99 (for a set of 5 brushes!! ).
The biggest range Lottie London has to offer is their Nail Polishes, which at £5.99 a pop are both affordable and varied in colour and style, two things any beauty addict loves to hear.
I picked up a few shades to try named 'Just Dance' ( a metallic two toned red) and 'Blogger Babe' ( a light purple/pink nude ). I was in shock once I used them! in shock at how much I really really liked them! As someone who uses Barry M as my go to nail polish I find it very hard to find something that  is even remotely as good as Barry M but boy does Lottie London give them a run for their money!!  The colour payoff is fantastic and just with one coat the colour really pops and is hard to chip. So as a complete beauty addict I ended up buying some more and now with 7 in my collection I can't see myself stopping any time soon. With names such as 'Dream Weaver', 'Dream Land' and 'No limits', I have to say I love their names! This is a common theme throughout the entire collection with a Sponge named ' Blend and Snap' they are all quirky and original and each as loveable as the next!

Along with nail polishes they also do Nail Stencils called the ' Paint by numbers manicure '. Although I personally couldn't get the hang of using them when I used them on someone else I really liked the outcome. It adds a great effect to a subtle nail look and makes them look amazing!

I also picked up some of their Brushes which they had a huge collection of! Their brushes are not only vegan friendly but are by far the softest I have ever used! Pricing between £4.99 and £9.49 ( Individual brushes), they are yet again very affordable. They pack on the product very well and leave your makeup with a nice finish, complementing whatever make up you use with them. There is no hair splitting or wear on the handles which is an added bonus! My personal favourites are the Blending Brush and the Tan Time brush which I use for bronzers etc! They go wherever I go and do not leave my side!! They are a makeup bag essential!! I love that each brush is a different colour, making each one a statement piece in their own right!

Unfortunately 2 of my brushes broke which was very sad! But isn't unlikely to happen and is no reflection on the company itself. When I got in contact with the company they were so kind and considerate and sent me out replacements at once! As an added gift they also sent me some of their Treasure Tatts. So I gave them a whirl and have slowly become addicted, my hands adorn with these tatts! I love the festival look and these will certainly add that to my summer wardrobe. Included are 3 full to the brim sheets with so many different and unique designs and at just £10 a pack I find that a steal!!

I seriously feel that Lottie London are a brand to watch out for! Im so excited to see what they bring out next and I know I will be the first in line to find out!

♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
