Stationary Tips for Uni/College

Hello Lovely's! Today I'm going to be talking about my top 10 stationary must haves you need for studying wherever you are heading whether that be University or college!

1) I know many of you are thinking about taking a laptop or tablet to class with you and yeah thats a good idea but you don't want to be stuck in class with no battery life and no charging ports because trust me its a nightmare! Also if your using a laptop in class MAKE SURE TO BACK YOUR WORK UP! you don't want to have spent hours typing away only to end up deleting it and you can't get it back! So Think and Sync!!!

2) Put a Ring on it! Take a ring binder to class because you will end up getting lots of handouts, some which are very important such as hand in and exam dates! So make sure you get a decent folder for you to organise these in! You won't regret it.

3) Buy multiple pens and pencils! When it comes down to pens make sure you buy in bulk because you will go through loads! Mainly because you will end up losing them or lending them to people who never return them ( pen thief's!! ). Make sure these pens won't run out at the worst moment because you don't want to be halfway through writing and BAM no more ink *cries*. You can get some really nice looking ones with super cool designs that can seriously help brighten up your pencil case!

4) Highlighters on Fleek! Highlighters will be your best friend, using highlighters to mark out the most important points will save you ALOT of time during exams, which will leave more time to study! Highlighting also makes your work look more colourful and attractive which will help you to focus and take things in during the learning process.

5) Ive got Notebooks and Notepads a plenty! I know you all want fabulous stationary but make sure its affordable and practical because you will go through more notepads then you will hot dinners! especially in your first year where there is so much information to take in! These will also be your best study material when it comes to exams and coursework so make sure your notes are clear and concise.  My biggest advice would be to focus more on what the lecturer is saying and write that down rather than taking notes from the slides because most lecturers will have their slides readily available for you to download!

6) It's a Stick up!! Sticky notes always come in handy especially for writing important notes or reminders and are great to pop into a diary or onto a calendar. You can also get some really unique designs such as Doughnuts or animals which can add a quirky touch to any notebook!

7) Let me check my Diary! A diary or calendar is a great essential to have, writing down your exam dates, due dates or social plans make it so much easier to remember or plan ahead. When I was at uni I wish I had purchased one because it would have made things so much easier! It wasn't until I started blogging that I realised the importance of a diary!

8) Bags Bags Bags!! Make sure to get yourself a bag that will hold all of your stationary swell as other essentials. I always take a backpack with me because I find it easier to carry all my essentials! But make sure not to clutter it too much so that you can't find anything!!!

9) Notice Me! A notice board is a great idea to get your attention for certain thing such as dates or reminders! you can also decorate it with pictures from home or items that remind you of good times!

10) USB Me! USB and Harddrives will save your life...literally! Stock up on these babies because they are great for transferring data and coursework to study at University/College in the library rather than carrying Loads of notebooks! Its also a great tool for sharing notes with your friends rather than having to hand write everything!

So there it is my Top 10 Stationary must haves!! I hope you enjoyed it and stay tuned because ill be dropping a new post tomorrow!!

Excuse my extreme resting bitchface!

Put Your best Face Forward- Tarte Cosmetics Review

A few weeks ago I was watching QVC when a segment on Tarte Cosmetics came up. I had played around with this brand when I was in America at my local Sephora, but hadn't owned anything by them and had no idea you could get their products in the UK, so I was instantly intrigued!
If you don't who/what Tarte Cosmetics are they are a cosmetics brand who are committed to delivering real results for real woman, the eco -chic, the best friend etc. Tate cosmetics range is cruelty-free and infused with super fruits, plant extracts, essential oils and other naturally- derived ingredients. Amazonian clay plays a big part in all their products and are all hand sourced for this makeup range. At first glance a few years prior I didnt really believe everything the brand was trying to sell...boy was I wrong! I watched the segment on QVC and the application of each product and have to say I was blown away! Lets just say I ended up ordering more than a few things! Here are  the I items I picked up and my first impressions on them.
The Tartlette Palette is one that I have had my eye on for a while and when I saw it for just £28.00! I knew I had to have it. All the shades are neutral tones and are named after different types of woman or as they like to call them Tartelettes ( hence the palette name), such as Free Spirit and Super Mom. The shades are all matte and are fused with amazonian clay to give them this really smooth texture. The payoff is amazing and the smallest amount manages to cover the entire lid. Im so impressed with this palette. The whole consistency, colour payoff and colour range is something I love, and wouldn't hesitate getting another palette from Tarte. The deal on QVC also included a brush which is double ended, one side for blending and the other is for applying the product. I really like this and bristles are honestly the softest I have ever felt on a brush!!
I also purchased the special value of the day which was the Tarte 6 Piece Best Face Forward Make-Up Collection & BagOne of the products was this Coloured Clay CC Primer Stick in the shade Fair. I really liked this its pretty full coverage and I only used it on a few areas of my face because I felt it was really thick but it did the job and lasted all day without moving the foundation etc. The colour really suited my skin type too and matched it almost perfectly. This is going to be something I will be reaching for more often!

This really caught my eye and was something I had heard alot about. The Lights Camera Lashes Mascara  is a 4 in 1lengthening, curling, volumising and conditioning. When I used this I was in shock, it completely thickened my lashes and lengthened them so much without any clumping. I am so impressed and this was by far my favourite product I picked up! I found the packaging a tad strange but other than that it was amazing and something I will keep repurchasing!
The set came with the Lipsurgence in the shade Vintage. I found the texture very nourishing and the colour was very nice but I didn't find anything that made it any different to any other product I have seen so wasn't too impressed with this product and probably wouldn't repurchase this product.
The set also included a Coloured Clay Bronzer Blush with colour correcting. I love the way it adds a flush of colour and isn't too heavy or deep in colour. Also included was a  Amazonian clay eyeshadow quad in a brightly packaged box. The colours are all daily wearable and each one packs so much product onto the lid it lasts all day! I have a feeling that Tarte eyeshadows are going to be a big thing for me in the future!
I love the fact that with each Tarte product you but on QVC they give you the brush that accompanies the product! Not many companies do this and this was one of the reasons I was so excited to purchase some goodies from them! The brushes are seriously the softest I have felt in a long time and even after use the bristles remain in place with no signs of falling out or misplacement. With the set came a double-ended complexion brush which included a striped pattern on the handle which is something that flows through the entire 6 piece collection.

Well I hope you enjoyed this post! If you have any questions on the products or want more specifics just comment below! I also want to apologise for some of my posts being late I've just been super busy with other things! I will get back to regular posting straight away!

From Norfolk To New York Part 2

Adelphi was bursting with full bloomed trees and flowers everywhere it was like something out of a movie and when I reached my Dorm room in New Hall B, it was HUGE. Because I would be sharing with 2 other people we had a massive en-suite bathroom and the room was open plan with desks and wardrobes. It felt so empty because I was the first person there. And at that moment I realised where I was and the incredible journey I had made.  I remember that night I didn't have any bedding so I made make shift pillows and bedding from some of my clothes and a blanket I had brought from the plane. After messaging my family to let them know I got there safely, I just laid on my new bed looking at the itinerary for the next few days and speculating on who I would meet and what I was in store for.

The next day was filled of welcoming events and group activities, I somehow ended up in the same group as Polina the girl I had met previous on the shuttle bus, and spent all day with her just talking and enduring the events. I met some great people in my group but one stuck out and one I spent everyday with thereafter that was Sophie. Sophie was an exchange student from Australia who was studying journalism. She was so friendly and easy to talk to and we managed to click instantly we shared so many personality traits I felt like I really connected with someone and I was right ( but ill talk more about that later ). After meeting some more people from other countries we had a little group and really had fun, that night we all skipped the last event to go to the mall to buy bedding and we really got to know each other, that night I went to bed feeling excited for what was to come and to see my new found friends.

Adelphi had organised a beach trip for everyone there was about 20 of us and we all enjoyed games on Jones Beach, hearing each others stories and personal backgrounds. Omar from Egypt introduced us to this game called wink murder which we were all glued to for about 2 hours!! all in all it was fantastic day (even though I suffered severe sunburn), and many of the people I met that day I continued to hang around with though out my time at Adelphi and still talk to frequently today. A few of us went to IHop that night and I ate so many pancakes I felt so so sick! Welcome to America hey!

Later on after the fun of the beach and IHOP a few of us decided to go out on the town and experience Garden Citys night life. Ami this girl we met who was apart of the international student programme kindly took us and me , Sophie, David and Omar went out. We went to a bar called Mchebes which was very close to that of the bar from Coyote ugly and I instantly fell in love! Me and Sophie managed to get most of our drinks for free just because we were international which resulted in very tipsy moments including Sophie burning me with her cigarette and declaring me her best friend! But the funniest moment had to be when Omar lit up a cigarette in the club thinking it was okay to smoke inside and nearly getting thrown out, us internationals hey, you can't take us anywhere! When we returned to Adelphi that night the sprinklers were on and we all ran through them not caring that we were instantly soaked but just enjoying every moment we could! cherishing our first night together.

A week went by and the day came where my first roommate was going to be moving in, her name was Krissy and although I didn't really know her, we had been talking to each other on Facebook prior which was really helpful in making the situation more comfortable.
I was eating lunch with my friends Polina and Sophie before we were going to head off to the mall, since I knew Krissy would be arriving soon I went back to my room to see if she had arrived. When I opened the door I was greeted by her and we had a small conversation before I ran to catch the shuttle bus to the mall to grab bedding etc.

The next day a group of us decided to head into the city for the first time, we all met for breakfast and discussed the places we wanted to visit. I remember sitting there so excited about visiting the big apple and finally see the place where my year long journey would take place. The train to Penn Stations was so surreal because I knew that at any moment I would be in the city and although I had read about it and seen it in movies nothing could have prepared me for the beauty that is New York City...
