Cheap Effective Ways of Storing Make-Up

I was wondering what type of post to write next and I thought it would be a good idea to show you some cheap and effective ways of storing makeup, whether that be make up brushes or lipliners. So here are my top 4 cheap effective storage alternatives!

1) Lip Liner Storage; I went down to my local B&M in search of some nice pieces for my bedroom when I came across these old fashioned perfume bottles. At around £1.99 each! i thought these were a complete bargain and a great way I could store my lip liners. I also found some clear crystals which i placed in the bottom to add some glitz to them and to stop the contents from moving around.

2) Makeup Brush Storage; Also from B&M I found these large candle holders which I thought were perfect for storing my makeup brushes these were also £ 1.99 each and at that price I couldn't pass them up! Likewise with the perfume bottles I half filled them with the crystals to stop my brushes from moving around.

3) Desktop Palette Storage; I really wanted a way of storing some of my favourite palettes on my desktop and came across these acrylic letter holders from WHSMITH, they were in the sale at £ 3.00 each and I thought they would be perfect for my palettes. They are the right width and length to store all my favourite palettes and keep them looking tidy on my desktop. This is a really effective way and adds great presentation to any desktop!

4) Lipstick/Lipgloss Storage; This 24 Lipstick holder is from Amazon and is perfect for storing lipstick, it slopes up so you can get a clear view of your lipsticks and is perfect for having on your desk top or onto of your Muji box like I store mine. At around £ 2.50! yes thats right £ 2.50 these are an absolute bargain and look lovely! This is an essential for any beauty lover!

I hope you enjoyed this post and have had some inspiration for new cheap effective ways of storing some of your favourite make up! Unfortunately I couldn't find any links for the items from WHSMITHS and B&M but I'm sure if you popped into store you could pick these or suitable alternatives up!

My Makeup Storage/ Desk

So I thought I would do something a bit different and show you my own personal makeup desk and storage. Ive been watching some YouTube videos recently and it sprung into my mind that favourites have all been when they show us their collection and storage! Now I'm not going to go through every single bit of makeup I own but I'm going to show you how I store it and a few of my favourites. Also i'm debating starting up a YouTube channel so if you would like me to do this leave me a comment below on what you would like to see and if you would like me to set one up! So I'm going to stop rambling on and show you my favourite part of my bedroom!

Disclaimer; I just wanted to say I am no way boasting about my makeup and what I have, it has taken me years to accumulate this makeup and have only recently been able to purchase somewhere for it all to go! and although I am not totally happy with my storage especially in my drawers I thought it would be something different.

My desk is from Ikea and is perfect for storing makeup! I will link the desk at the bottom incase you wanted to purchase one yourself.
This is the general overview of my make up station. On top I keep my MUJI storage with mostly lipsticks and daily essentials inside. I also keep some glass perfume bottles and candle holders which I keep my brushes and lipliners in ( i'll give you a closer look in my next post ). A light up mirror which I got from Boots, this mirror really is fantastic it has two sides one with a magnified mirror which is great for getting up close and the changeable lighting is a great added touch! Next to my mirror I keep some of my favourite palettes such as the Naked Palettes and my MAC quads, I keep these in two acrylic letter holders which I picked up from WHSmith. My beauty book collection is displayed next to these which includes 'Love Tanya' & 'The Glam Guide', I love having them here just incase I want to browse through and pick a particular look or tip to try that day, its just really handy. Finally I have a 4 drawer Unit which has random bits and bobs such as hair clips and miniature perfumes.

When I out my two drawers out I have some baskets from Klas Olson which I picked up to put my spare foundations and other bits inside. I also have some long desk storage from Tiger which come in packs of 4, I use the primarily to hold my blushes in because the are the perfect width to store these. On the right hand side I keep all of my palettes such as my 'Espiranza' Palette by Kat Von D, 'Pulp Fiction' Palette by Urban Decay etc. However I am not as happy with my desk storage and am in the process of transferring them into different baskets to make them more presentable.

Now I've given you a brief overview of my desk area I'm going to show you a few of my favourites from my makeup collection!

I love my KIKO eyeshadow palette the colours range and colour pay off are amazing! and they are so affordable too! I would really recommend them if your looking to try something new.

My lipstick collection is something I'm really proud of, i'm especially proud of my MAC collection its something that really introduced me into makeup and spurred my beauty addiction.

Kat Von D has such a fantastic beauty collection out and when I first heard she was bringing a collection out I was so excited! Her range is so beautiful and has such a high quality. Her liquid lipsticks especially are amazing and something I vastly recommend.

I have recently really began experimenting with more colour in my makeup looks so this MAC Quad which I created myself is something I have recently clung to with colours such as 'Cranberry' and 'Antiqued' I carry this everywhere with me and is now my go to palette!

Well I hope you enjoyed this post! I tried to keep it as short as possible but if there is something you would like to see more of or particularly know about my collection then leave me a comment below and I will get back to you as soon as I can!

MUJI Storage: A Little Look Into My Desktop Storage

"To me, beauty and makeup and color is like the finishing touch on everything." Marc Jacobs

I decided to do a post showing how I store some of my make up. Before purchasing my storage I watched a few youtube videos and looked at a few blogs and found it vastly helpful so thought I would show a fraction of mine.

Although I do have a dressing table I like to have a few of my favourite things onto of my dresser to make it easily accessible to me when I need to do a quick beauty look. Ive heard so many great things about MUJI and their products which have been recommended time and time again so I decided to take the plunge and purchase one! I got the 5 Drawer Acrylic Organiser which was £25 ( I will post a link to the website at the bottom of the page), I went for this one because I felt it had the right amount of space and height to fit in the products that I wanted to place inside it. I was surprised at how heavy it actually was and feel that this product will last a long time due to the thickness and weight it has ( which is always a bonus!).

The length of the box was PERFECT to put my lipstick holders which I keep my MAC lipsticks in, which was perfect because I had been moving them around my dresser for ages trying to find the perfect place for them.

In the top drawer I decided to place my most recent purchases so in here at the moment I have: Naked Basics 2, Nakes Basics 1, Charlotte Tilbury Quads in The Vintage Vamp & The Dolce Vita, The Grind House Sharpener by Urban Decay, Charlotte Tilbury Sharpener, Viva Glam Miley Cyrus, Charlotte Tilbury Lipsticks in the shades: Love Liberty, So Marilyn & Velvet Underground, Charlotte Tilbury Eyeshadow Pencil in Amethyst and Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Diffused Heat

In the second drawer I decided to keep a few things that I couldn't find another place for them to go I have; 2 Mac Quads in various shades such as Coppering and Amber Lights, Naked Flushed Native, MAC Archie Collection Blush, Nars Laguna and Orgasim double pan and Benefit Boi-ing Concealer.

In the third drawer I keep my eyeshadow pots and sticks which I tend to grab on a daily basis I have; 2 Nars Eyeshadow pots, Maybelline colour tattoo pots in various shades such as On and On Bronze, 2 Topshop Grunge sticks in violet and green, 2 MAC Eyeshadows, 2 KIKO lipgloss pencils, Urban Decay Eyeliner pot, Rimmel Scandel-eyes pencil and an Urban Decay Eyeliner.

In the fourth and penultimate drawer I decided to keep a few Eyebrow products and most of my Eye Primers, Mascaras and Eyeliners, these are; Soap and Glory its Prime Time, Maybelline Lash Sensational, Loreal Manga Lashes, Urban Decay Pervasion Mascara and 2 Perversion Primers, Kat Von D Mascara, Mini They're Real by Benefit, Lime Crime Milk Eyeliner, Kat Von D eyeliner, 2 Benefit Push up Liners and Rimmel Brow This Way.

In the final drawer of my MUJI Box I have put some lip glosses and a few liquid lipsticks these are; Kat Von D Liquid Lipsticks in Jeffree and BAUHAU5, MUA Liquid Lipsticks, Lime Crime Carousal Lipgloss in Present, 2 MAC Lipglosses, VIVA Glam Rihanna Lipgloss, 2 Soap and Glory Lipgloss Pencils, Rimmel Lipgloss Pencil and 2 Urban Decay Naked Lipglosses.

I haven't gone into too much detail about the products but in the next post I will be going through some of my makeup favourites which include products I've listed above. If you would like to see any watched of certain products or reviews on anything then just comment below! I will also link below the MUJI drawers which I purchased incase you wanted to get yourself one or have a browse at the other boxes they do! xoxo
