My Favourite Nail Polishes For Spring ✽ ✾ ✿ ❁
Monday, 6 April 2015
Spring is nature's way of saying, 'Let's party!' Robin Williams
Hello Everybody, since spring is well and truly here I thought I would go through my favourite Polishes to put the Spring back in your step!
Recently there has been a burst of new nail varnish collections each offering an array of colours and finishes that are universal to anybody. This season has seen a huge collection of pastel colours which is a bonus because everyone loves a good pastel shade, especially for spring!
These are my top 6 picks for this spring! I know its usually top five but I couldn't decide, there were so more I wanted to feature but I managed to narrow it down. Barry M is a pro at creating the most wonderful and unique array of nail varnishes for both texture and colour range. They have just released a collection called the 'Speedy Quick Dry' collection which does exactly what it says on the bottle, it drys super fast, eliminating the annoying feeling of having to wait for your nails to dry. 'Pole Position' & 'Lap of Honour' are such beautiful purple and green pastel colours which leave a great finish on your nails.
The shade 'Elderberry' is from the Gelly collection and is such a beautiful pale blue colour. I don't usually like blue nails but this colour is so subtle and wearable with any outfit I couldn't resist.
As you may know I've been LOVING Rimmel recently and their nail polishes are no different, for me the Rita Ora for Rimmel collection is such great value for money (at as little as £1.49!) and the colours are very much aimed towards spring/summer. One of my absolute favourites is 'Rain,Rain go away' its a very pale purple grey colour and is very interchangeable with any outfit. This colour is perfect for a night out and leaves you feeling very sophisticated.
The last two on my spring favourites are both nail varnish toppers, by this I mean their purpose is to go on top of a colour although you can wear it alone. The 'Pop Art' topper by Rita Ora for Rimmel has recently been my go to polish, I love how it transforms your nail varnish into something quirky and noticeable and love the colour range they have used for the dots themselves. The last polish is from a brand called Essence which I have only recently discovered, I saw someone post about their products on Instagram and went on a mission to find some. I was relatively impressed with the range, and was especially drawn to their nail topper in the shade 'Cupcake'. The topper is filled with little rectangle sequins and is a dusty pink shade its so beautiful to pair with a pastel colour varnish, and would be such a nice addiction to anybody's spring wardrobe.
I hope you enjoyed my favourite spring nail polishes! I would love to know what yours are so leave a comment below. Ill link the products below so if you fancy picking one up you can.

March Favourites
I can't believe we are now officially in April! These months are just flying by and the beauty market is constantly introducing new products some which work well and some which don't, Im going to share some of my March Favourites, and you never know you may see something you want to try.
I've been loving High street/Drug Store products recently and their isn't one product that is high end this month!!
The first two of my nail picks are the Rimmel London Rita Ora collection nail varnishes in the shades 'White Hot Love' & 'Pop Art'. Im a bit late jumping on the bandwagon for these because they have been out a while but since they were on offer in Asda for a bargain price of just £1.49! Yes thats right just £1.49, I thought I would finally give them ago. They really didn't disappoint, although you have to give them a few layers each which is expected the colour constancy and pay off is fantastic and the combination of the two goes together like a dream!
Barry M's nail range I feel is unbeatable for not only quality and colour range but price at just £2.99-£3.99 a bottle (and they always seem to be on offer), a little goes along way and they are always releasing new shades and collections. I decided to get a couple of the new Speedy Quick Dry Nail Paints in the shades 'Pole Position' & 'Road Rage'. It was really hard to pick the shades I wanted because they were all such lovely colours! The entire collection is an assortment of pastels. The colour on the nails is BEAUTIFUL and although you need a few coats to really pick up the colour vividly it drys super quick so once ouse done one coat you can go back and do another straight away! No more waiting patiently for the colour to dry! This is such a bonus especially when your painting your nails in a rush, I highly recommend these to all you nail varnish fanatics out there.
This isn't a new product by all means but it is something I have been loving this month!! My lips recently have felt really dry and corse so I've turned back to my Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub £2.99 and it really does the trick. The scrub leaves my lips feeling silky smooth and because the scrub is all natural ingredients (huge bonus) such as sugar granules if you accidentally on purpose get some in your mouth it doesn't taste bad whatsoever unlike most lip scrubs. If your having the same issue as me recently then this is a must have!
Everyone loves the Maybelline Colour Tattoos but I recently discovered the Maxfactor Excess Shimmer Pots in the shade '20 Copper' at £7.99 each they are a little on the expensive side but it is definitely worth every penny. Unlike the Colour Tattoo Pots the texture is much more creamier and just the littlest amount will cover both eyelids! Ive been loving this and wearing it almost everyday and i haven't even used a fraction of the top of the pot!! The colour is phenomenal and really makes my eyes pop ( which is always a bonus). Although it is a cream texture the product lasts all day and doesn't move from where you've applied the product! I will definitely be investing in their other shades which all seem to have lovely colourings.
When I saw the Rimmel Lasting Finish Concealer I wasn't sure if I would A) Want to try it, and B) If it would really work. I decided to take the plunge whilst it was on offer at £ 4.99 and give it a go, and boy was I glad I did!! I have a real problem with most concealers because they always seem to leave me with lines under my eyes which I HATE so I'm very cautious when trying out a new one. Once I tried this I was so impressed I haven't stopped using it! Not only did it get rid of the dark circles under my eyes (when I have them) it also completely got rid of those pesky lines to say I was happy is an understatement! This is very much my product of the month .I've really been impressed with Rimmel as a brand this month! Usually I just stroll past their counter and never really take the time to look or try their products, but I won't anymore!
I love Soap & Glory as a brand and feel their products are so affordable and work really well. This month saw the release of the new XXL Pillow Plump Lipgloss £10.00. Now I'm not really a big lipgloss fan but since I love their original Sexy Mother Pucker glosses I thought I Would give it a try, I got the shade 'Clearvoyant' which is just a clear gloss. Just like their other lipgloss it gives you a tingling sensation in your lips and plumps them up! I have seriously been loving this and have been wearing it on its own and on top of other lipsticks, its been really effective as you can see in the above picture and I am seriously going to be investing in the other shades they have to offer.
Another lip product I've been reaching for is the new Loreal infallible lipstick £6.99 in the shade 228 which is Blake Lively's new limited edition shade. The colour itself is a perfect summer shade and reminds me of MAC Impassioned £15.50, but at a more affordable price. The product consistancy is very rich and lasts around 6 hours without retouching. The lipstick doesn't bleed past your lip line and keeps such a blast of colour once applied. Recently I've been thoroughly impressed with Loreals collection and it is always my first stop in Superdrug or Boots, and their lipsticks are starting to become a must have for me. This has been my march go to shade and is one that I can't see my self not reaching for to add a pop of colour this spring.
************
Well thats my March Favourites guys! I haven't included skincare or foundation in this favourites because I have already referenced them in the previous post! However I will be uploading a Skincare Routine in the next few days! I hope you've enjoyed this post and I would love to hear your favourites so if you have some you feel I might like then please done hesitate to comment below

Whats In My Makeup Bag?!?!?
Sunday, 29 March 2015
Since I haven't written a post in a little while I thought I would talk about whats in my makeup bag! Firstly my makeup bag is from Zoella's collection which I brought for £8 at Superdrug. Its the perfect size to put all your favourite beauty items inside and is great for travelling. It has a lot of room inside and the shape is perfect for my essentials, and not to mention the pattern is extremely pretty.
So lets dive in and take a look inside my bag.
The first thing I pull out is my Soap and Glory Super Tonic in the scent Orangeasm, which I received for christmas. The bottle is quite a large size so takes up a large amount of space inside my bag but its worth it! The scent is so fresh and fruity and the smallest amount goes a long way, the fragrance lasts all day and leaves you smelling gorgeous!
Along with the Super Tonic I pulled out 5 other products. I recently purchased the new Rita Ora Rimmel nail polishes and my favourite shade has to be Rain Rain Go Away, its a perfect subtle colour and since I've painted my nails that colour Its in my makeup bag incase I ever need to top it up. At £2.99 a bottle they are a real steal and I highly recommend them!
I always take two makeup brushes with me wherever I go, these tend to be the Real Techniques Powder Brush ( £9.99 ) and my Primark double ended eyeshadow brush ( £1.00 ). These are the brushes I use the most so I always have them by my side incase I need to touch up my makeup or change my look. My Mac Studio Fix (£21.50) in the shade NW20 is also in my bag for that reason, just incase I need to touch my makeup up, I love this product so much and am so happy I discovered it! It leaves my face feeling so soft and you can really see a difference.
Since I have combination skin I tend to get oily patches on my nose and other areas on my face so I decided to try the Garnier Moisture Matte Moisturiser for £1.99 (it was on sale at ASDA) and I'm so glad I found it! Ever since I have used it my face feels so much fresher and really helps with my oily patches, if you have Combination skin I would highly recommend it!
I always like to carry a primer and foundation with me everywhere, I recently discovered the New Loreal Infallible Matte Foundation and Primer (£7.99 each) and have fallen in love. As a fan of the original Infallible Foundation I was naturally drawn to this and it didn't disappoint. The payoff and texture is outstanding and you can really see the difference, although it is a matte foundation it isn't too mattifying and doesn't dry your face out, seriously loving this product!
Maybelline as a drugstore brand offers some of the best value for money products especially when it comes to Mascara so theirs tends to be the one you will find in my bag. Their Lash Sensational Mascara (£5.99) is by far my favourite and is the mascara I tend to reach for the most. The brush has a slight curve to match that of someones eyes and the formula really works well and creates defined lashes, its a seriously good product and perfect if your on a budget!
Mac does some amazing blushes and bronzers but my go to makeup bag essential is the limited edition Rihanna Hibiscus Kiss ( I love it so much I've hit pan!). This goes wherever I go and is always in my makeup bag.
Although I have a huge passion and love for lipsticks I only carry a few with me and they usually depend on my outfit or make up that day. In my makeup bag at the moment I have MAC Honey-Love (£15.50), Charlotte Tilbury's Velvet Underground (£23.00) and Urban Decay Naked Lipgloss in the shade Naked. These all offer different textures and colour payoffs but are all brilliant. My favourite has to be Velvet Underground, it offers such a vivid colour and lasts all day and is an essential to any makeup collection.
To go along with my lipsticks I carry a lip liner and lip primer, at the moment its my Topshop Lip Primer (£9.50) and my Mac Boldly Bare Lip Liner (£12.50). The primer really hydrates my lips and keeps them that way all day which is what you would want from a primer, it also keeps the product intact and doesn't chap my lips. Mac's lip liners are brilliant! they pack on a lot of colour and are great for keeping your chosen lipstick in place without them bleeding through, they offer so many different colours and are always a must have in my bag!
The last item in my makeup bag is my Urban Decay Naked Basics 1&2 Palettes (£22.00) . I love the shades in these palettes and they are effect travel size, they are great if you want to create a subtle look or a smokey eye and I love having them with me wherever I go. Both of them offer different shade ranges and textures whether its matte or shimmer and each is as beautiful as the next, if you haven't checked them out yet then do it!
Well I hope you enjoyed seeing what items are in my makeup bag and you may have discovered some new products to try! Leave me some comments below about what you would like to see me post next, until then xoxo
Brown Lipstick is The Way Forward
Tuesday, 24 March 2015
Recently more than ever I have been loving a Brown lipstick. For me when I wear it I feel like I'm transported into a film noir and I love it! Plus Using a brown lipstick can really accentuate your lips and give them added fullness.
I discovered my love for brown lipsticks when I wondered into the MAC store ( as I do on many occasions..) and stumbled across a shade called 'Retro' I instantly fell in love and here we are!
I've rummaged through my MAC lipstick collection to showcase my top Brown toned lipsticks!
Hope you enjoyed this post, and please leave comments below on what posts you would like to see next xoxo

Maybelline Colour Tattoo Review
Tuesday, 10 March 2015
The Maybelline Colour Tattoo pots are very popular and so they should be, with great colour payoff and an extensive range of colours they are a great makeup essential, and the best part at £4.00 a jar they are very affordable! Compared to that of the Nars alternative which I also purchased at £18.00 a jar, I feel these are vastly better, not only are the shades just utterly beautiful but the product size is vastly different and so is the price!
The Colour Tattoo pots come in so many shades and each one is just was beautiful as the next a few shades I have acquired are 'On and On Bronze, 'Emerald Green', '24 Carat Gold' & 'Pomegranate Punk' just to name a few! The colour pay off is really intense and allows for a smooth application with great lasting power, mine have lasted all day on my eyelids without any reapplication and the colour is just as vivid as when I first applied it! Theres only one that I was disappointed with which is 'Tough as Taupe' I found this really difficult to apply, this is one of the shades from the leather effect range and to try and get it to give good coverage was very difficult, however this is the only one I have had a problem with.
I love these pots and feel that for the price especially they are a bargain and a makeup bag must, they are great if you are just starting out with make up and want to experiment or if your a make up veteran. I always find myself grabbing for these when packing to go away or just on an everyday occurrence, hopefully they come out with more colours soon as I'm running out of shades to buy! I can't reiterate how amazing these are but seriously try them if you get the chance, you won't regret it! xoxo
